my spring mood board

Hello! I hope you all had an amazing week! The summer is approaching, only a week to go for me!

I have a ton of exams this week, so I’ll be quite busy. I’ll make some room for blogging though! Once school ends, I’ll have a bunch of free time to blog! Whoop whoop!

I have four finals this week, and guess what I have been doing instead of studying for exams? Making mood boards 🙂

I spent a ton of time looking for beautiful images on pinterest. I tried to stick to a pinkish / brown theme and aimed to incorporate drawings and quotes! I love how it turned out. I put my mood board over top of my lovely chair from ikea. I posted a room tour, which you can read if you would like to see my entire bedroom!

Anyways, as always, I hope you enjoy

some recipes – a collab!

Hello! I am back with another collab, this time it is with the lovely Molly from Molly and Moo! She posts about life, food, room tours (my favourite!!!), and so much more! I love her blog, and I’m sure you will too!

We decided to show you guys some of our favourite recipes! I love these dishes so so so much, and I recommend giving them a shot! They are relatively easy to make, none of them will take longer than 20 minutes to make! I have posted a blogpost similiar to this one, but it only featured breakfasts. You can read it here.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy and maybe try out some of the recipes!

epsom salts

scented foaming bath (you can also use 10-15 drops of essential oil)

food colouring (optional)

a jar or container

2 bowls

2 spoons

Divide the epsom salt into two bowls. Add in your scent. I used a lavender scented foaming bath, which has a soapy consistency. I added in around a tablespoon. If you are using essential oil, add in 10-15 drops. Next add in the food colouring. I only added a drop and as you can tell, a little goes a long way. I decided to leave one bowl (left) unscented and uncoloured, but it is up to you.

Stir until the food colouring and scent is evenly distributed.

Next take a spoonful of each and layer it in your jar. Be as creative as you want, you can even make it rainbow if you wanted too! I added a label to make it a tad bit fancier. And you are finished!

I am absolutely in love with this necklace! It is gorgeous and completely customizable. Oh, and super easy to make!

paint & sharpies to decorate

First you are going to shape the clay into beadlike shapes. I used a pencil to poke a hole in the centre. Next, bake them in the oven. For the clay that I used, you are supposed to bake at 95° for 30 minutes, but follow the instructions on the package of your clay.

Once they get out of the oven, the fun begins! Decorating! I used sharpies and acrylic paint to decorate the beads.

Once you have finished decorating, string a chain or twine through the beads and you are done!

This diy lip scrub exfoliates your lips and tastes great! At lush, you can purchase lip scrubs for $10, but you probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

vanilla extract (or whatever scent you want)
food colouring
granulated sugar
olive oil
empty container

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Your first step is to add 1/2 a tsp of granulated sugar and 1/2 a teaspoon of olive oil together in a bowl.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Add a drop of vanilla extract and mix together. Add 1 or 2 drops of food colouring. I recommend sticking to neutral tones, because if you add too much it might dye your lips!

Put the mixed product in a container and you are finished!

I hope you enjoyed these three diys! Thank you for reading

cards, cards, cards

Hello lovelies! I found a new obsession. Cards! Recently I have been making TONS of cards, and have decided to share a few with you guys.

These are probably my favourite cards that I have made so far. I like adding either a hint of colour (like the leaves) or a pop of colour (like the dots) Most of the cards that I have made are birthday cards.

Like this one. Its probably my favourite. I love how it has a banner and a pop of bright colours, along with a hint of baby blue.

I also really like this one because it is simple and cute. I used brush pens and gel pens to make these cards. If you want to see what kind of pens, check out Anika’s “whats in my pencil case” I used some of hers, because I forgot mine at my house.

Here are a few cards with a splash of colour. I used a dotted technique.

Here is another one of my favourites. I like it because it has a hint of green and it is very simple.

And finally, here are a few thank you cards.  I outlined them to add a pop of colour.

Thank you so much for reading! If you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment and a like 🙂

Thank you!

this weeks favourites

Hello lovelies! Since you all (hopefully) enjoyed last weeks favourites post, I decided to post another!

If you guys would like to see more of these blog posts, leave a comment down below 🙂

First up is my ” wreck this journal” for Indigo. It cost $20.99 CAD. For those that don’t know what a wreck this journal is, it is a book with instructions on each page on how to destroy it. I decided instead of wrecking it, to make it more of an art journal. I love this book so much and I definitely recommend it.

Next is my polaroid camera. I have the Instax Mini 8, in the colour of “baby blue” It cost $100 CAD and the images turn out great. The film is relatively expensive, over $1 an photo, but the quality makes up for it. (btw I drew on the polaroid with sharpie)

This highlighter was featured in my “whats in my travel makeup bag” post. This is one of my favourite highlighters I have ever had. It is called baked highlighter by e.l.f. in the shade of moonlight pearls. I absolutely love this amount of shine that it contains. If that makes sense ahaha.

Next up are my Adidas Superstars featured in my summer ootd blogpost. They are really nice and I like that you can dress them up or down.  They are also super comfortable and they are simple, so they can go with anything.

I purchased this book light at Indigo, and I absolutely love it. It says “not all those who wander are lost” and it has a clip so you can attach it to your favourite book or use it as a bookmark. I think it cost $12.99, but I’m not 100% sure.

Those are this weeks favourites!

Thank you so much for reading.

If you enjoyed this post and want more weekly favourites, like this post and leave a comment. Thanks 🙂

whats in my travel makeup bag

Screen Shot 2017-07-18 at 6.53.50 PM.png

Hello lovelies! Since I am on holidays, I decided to share whats in my travel makeup bag. These are my go to makeup items, and most can be purchased at your local drugstore.

This is my travel makeup bag. It is a pretty magenta colour and is very plain and simple. I’m pretty sure I purchased it at Urban Outfitters a couple years ago, but I’m not 100% certain. I am probably going to buy another one soon, because this one is pretty old.

The first item is the Fit Me Powder by Maybelline New York. I use this on a daily basis and I love it so much! I use it to set, and it leaves your skin looking matte and even. It costs $9.99 CAD, which is a great deal.

The next thing is the by e.l.f.. It comes with a pink blush (left side) and contour/bronzer (right side) They are both of great quality and I really recommend e.l.f. products as they are very cheap. It cost $4 CAD.

I use this e.l.f. concealer on a regular basis. It provides full coverage and is of great quality. It cost $3 CAD and I purchased it in the shade “ivory”

The next item is the baked highlighter by e.l.f. in the shade of moonlight pearls. This is such a great highlighter, but I ended up using a q-tip to apply it because I forgot my brush. Haha.

I have several eyeshadow palettes, but this one is by far my favourite. It is the Tartelette Tease Clay Palette (REVIEW)  I bought this palette for $30 CAD at Sephora and I absolutely adore it!

Next, is the Collossal Volume Express Mascara by Maybelline New York. This is my favourite mascara and it works so well. It makes your eyelashes look so much longer! It cost $11.99 CAD.

I use this beauty blender. It is plain black and works really well! It is pretty simple and there is not much to say about it.

I brought these three makeup brushes. The first one (far left) is for my brows, the middle one is contour and blush, and the last one is also for my brows.

The final item is this eyelash curler. I bought it from sephora and it is silver.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed!

p.s. I forget to take a cover image, so I decided on that one haha.

Last night I stayed up late, perched on my window sill, watching lightning light up the sky. It’s funny how something so small and simple can make me so happy. The low rumble of the thunder was calming, almost reassuring. I sat there, gazing up at the sky, waiting for a bolt of lightning to strike the earth. I love how the lightning is small, yet so powerful as it lights up the night sky. When I was in Italy, there was a huge thunderstorm. Believe whatever you want, but I swear there was at least one bolt of lightning every three seconds. I watched the storm with my family from the balcony of our hotel. I remember how the lightning lit up the sky and how we counted how many bolts we could see at once. Since our hotel was on a mountain, we could see the whole entire sky. It was so amazing and for me, one of the most memorable moments of the trip. That is when I first became fascinated with storms. Over the year, I have spent hours watching them.

Sorry that this was a shorter blog post. Hope you enjoyed!

Thanks for reading

OOTD | summer

Hello lovelies! Today I am going to be sharing my summer outfit with you guys. I am so happy that it is finally summer, because it is another excuse to go shopping haha. I recently went shopping and decided to bring you guys and outfit of the day. Enjoy!

I decided to go for a basic look, so I paired a striped tank top with a pair of high waisted denim shorts. I added my Adidas Superstar’s and I think that it made the look! You can easily pair this outfit with a cute ball cap or sunglasses for accessories.

I bought this shirt at Garage and I absolutely LOVE it! It has a high neck, which I think is super cute. This shirt cost $16.95 CAD, and I think that it is worth it! I really like how the back is a straight cut.

I purchased these denim shorts called the “Cool Blue Premium Retro High Waist Short” for $42.95 CAD. I like them because they are semi distressed and because they are high waisted.

Next, are my Adidas superstars. I absolutely love them! They are so comfy and you can dress them up or down. I think they cost $90 CAD, but I’m not 100% sure.

Thank you so much for reading! Leave a comment down below if you would like to see more OOTD’s. Also follow my pinterest if you want 🙂 Thanks!!
