First up is my ” wreck this journal” for Indigo. It cost $20.99 CAD. For those that don’t know what a wreck this journal is, it is a book with instructions on each page on how to destroy it. I decided instead of wrecking it, to make it more of an art journal. I love this book so much and I definitely recommend it.

Next is my polaroid camera. I have the Instax Mini 8, in the colour of “baby blue” It cost $100 CAD and the images turn out great. The film is relatively expensive, over $1 an photo, but the quality makes up for it. (btw I drew on the polaroid with sharpie)

This highlighter was featured in my “whats in my travel makeup bag” post. This is one of my favourite highlighters I have ever had. It is called baked highlighter by e.l.f. in the shade of moonlight pearls. I absolutely love this amount of shine that it contains. If that makes sense ahaha.

Next up are my Adidas Superstars featured in my summer ootd blogpost. They are really nice and I like that you can dress them up or down.  They are also super comfortable and they are simple, so they can go with anything.

IMG_8271.JPG

I purchased this book light at Indigo, and I absolutely love it. It says “not all those who wander are lost” and it has a clip so you can attach it to your favourite book or use it as a bookmark. I think it cost $12.99, but I’m not 100% sure.

Those are this weeks favourites!

Thank you so much for reading.

whats in my travel makeup bag

Screen Shot 2017-07-18 at 6.53.50 PM.png

Hello lovelies! Since I am on holidays, I decided to share whats in my travel makeup bag. These are my go to makeup items, and most can be purchased at your local drugstore.

IMG_8257.JPG

This is my travel makeup bag. It is a pretty magenta colour and is very plain and simple. I’m pretty sure I purchased it at Urban Outfitters a couple years ago, but I’m not 100% certain. I am probably going to buy another one soon, because this one is pretty old.

IMG_8249.JPG

The first item is the Fit Me Powder by Maybelline New York. I use this on a daily basis and I love it so much! I use it to set, and it leaves your skin looking matte and even. It costs $9.99 CAD, which is a great deal.

IMG_8252.JPG

The next thing is the by e.l.f.. It comes with a pink blush (left side) and contour/bronzer (right side) They are both of great quality and I really recommend e.l.f. products as they are very cheap. It cost $4 CAD.

IMG_8255.JPG

I use this e.l.f. concealer on a regular basis. It provides full coverage and is of great quality. It cost $3 CAD and I purchased it in the shade “ivory”

IMG_8250.JPG

The next item is the baked highlighter by e.l.f. in the shade of moonlight pearls. This is such a great highlighter, but I ended up using a q-tip to apply it because I forgot my brush. Haha.

IMG_8254.JPG

I have several eyeshadow palettes, but this one is by far my favourite. It is the Tartelette Tease Clay Palette (REVIEW)  I bought this palette for $30 CAD at Sephora and I absolutely adore it!

IMG_8258.JPG

Next, is the Collossal Volume Express Mascara by Maybelline New York. This is my favourite mascara and it works so well. It makes your eyelashes look so much longer! It cost $11.99 CAD.

IMG_8247.JPG

I use this beauty blender. It is plain black and works really well! It is pretty simple and there is not much to say about it.

IMG_8248.JPG

I brought these three makeup brushes. The first one (far left) is for my brows, the middle one is contour and blush, and the last one is also for my brows.

IMG_8246.JPG

The final item is this eyelash curler. I bought it from sephora and it is silver.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed!

p.s. I forget to take a cover image, so I decided on that one haha.

storms

Screen Shot 2017-07-17 at 1.46.41 PM.png

Last night I stayed up late, perched on my window sill, watching lightning light up the sky. It’s funny how something so small and simple can make me so happy. The low rumble of the thunder was calming, almost reassuring. I sat there, gazing up at the sky, waiting for a bolt of lightning to strike the earth. I love how the lightning is small, yet so powerful as it lights up the night sky. When I was in Italy, there was a huge thunderstorm. Believe whatever you want, but I swear there was at least one bolt of lightning every three seconds. I watched the storm with my family from the balcony of our hotel. I remember how the lightning lit up the sky and how we counted how many bolts we could see at once. Since our hotel was on a mountain, we could see the whole entire sky. It was so amazing and for me, one of the most memorable moments of the trip. That is when I first became fascinated with storms. Over the year, I have spent hours watching them.

Sorry that this was a shorter blog post. Hope you enjoyed!

Thanks for reading

OOTD | summer

IMG_8209.JPG

Hello lovelies! Today I am going to be sharing my summer outfit with you guys. I am so happy that it is finally summer, because it is another excuse to go shopping haha. I recently went shopping and decided to bring you guys and outfit of the day. Enjoy!

I decided to go for a basic look, so I paired a striped tank top with a pair of high waisted denim shorts. I added my Adidas Superstar’s and I think that it made the look! You can easily pair this outfit with a cute ball cap or sunglasses for accessories.

img_79591.jpg

I bought this shirt at Garage and I absolutely LOVE it! It has a high neck, which I think is super cute. This shirt cost $16.95 CAD, and I think that it is worth it! I really like how the back is a straight cut.

IMG_7961.JPG

I purchased these denim shorts called the “Cool Blue Premium Retro High Waist Short” for $42.95 CAD. I like them because they are semi distressed and because they are high waisted.

Next, are my Adidas superstars. I absolutely love them! They are so comfy and you can dress them up or down. I think they cost $90 CAD, but I’m not 100% sure.

travel essentials

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Hello everyone! I am going on vacation tomorrow! Of course while I’m travelling I will share many photos with you. Here are some items that I cannot travel without!

phone

This one is a no brainer. I use my phone to take and edit all of my photos. I also use it to upload them to Instagram and other social media’s. I also need to use my phone to navigate around!

laptop

I will use my laptop to write my blog posts and upload my photos each night. And of course there is Netflix and Youtube haha. I also use my laptop for Pinterest, which I have been really addicted to recently.

polaroid & film

I love the way the images turn out on a polaroid. I have the Instax Mini 8 and it is a must bring on trips. I also like to bring along a few packs of film, just incase I run out.

journal

Another necessity is my journal. I try to write in it each day, but so far I have not lived up to that goal.

a good book

You can never go wrong when you have a great book in your suitcase. I am currently reading An Abundance of Katherine’s by John Green, and it has been really good so far.

sunscreen

You cannot go on vacation without bringing along sunscreen, especially if you are going somewhere hot.

This was a shorter blog post, but I hope you enjoyed! I have planned out several blog posts for the next couple weeks. Thanks for reading!

this week’s favourites

img_7600.jpg

Happy belated Canada day to all of my fellow Canadians!

Today I am going to be sharing five of this week’s favourites. If you guys would like to see more of these blog posts, leave a comment down below 🙂

IMG_7634.JPG

My first favourite item are these little pins. I purchased eight of them at Ardene for only $10 CAD, which is such a deal! I was also surprised that they were of such great quality, because clothing and accessories found at Ardene are usually very cheap, both price wise and quality wise. The pins came in packs of four, but the image shows only three of the eight pins. They can easily be paired with a denim jacket for a cute, summery look.

IMG_7633.JPG

The next thing I purchased is a hand and body lotion from Lush called the Charity Pot. All of the $7.95 CAD, goes towards help empowering women in Congo. Since it was going to a great cause, I decided to purchase this delicate flower scented lotion. It leaves your skin feeling rejuvenated and is such a great buy.

IMG_7636.JPG

The next thing on this list is the Heavenly body mist from Victoria Secret. I used this body mist almost every single day. It offers a light vanilla and peony fragrance, perfect for the summertime. This body mist cost $15 CAD at Victoria Secret.

IMG_7637.JPGimg_76351.jpg

The next item on the list is the Tartelette Tease eyeshadow pallet from Sephora. I actually don’t wear eyeshadow (unless its a special occasion) but I use the “heartbreaker” shade to do my brows. This pallet includes six different eyeshadows and cost $30 CAD. This pallet is convienent for travelling, as it is small.
